Dr. Katerina Gallus had always known she wanted to be a surgeon. After earning her undergraduate degree at Duke University on academic and ROTC scholarships, she completed her medical training at the Uniformed Services University and built a distinguished 20-year career as a Navy plastic surgeon — deploying to Afghanistan and Southeast Asia, training nearly 100 physicians, and rising to lead plastic surgery departments and specialty programs.

When Dr. Gallus retired from the Navy, she channeled that same precision, discipline, and patient-centered commitment into founding Restore SD Plastic Surgery in 2017. Her vision was simple but powerful: create a practice where patients come first — where consultations feel personal, outcomes feel natural, and every person who walks through the door feels welcomed, regardless of their background or goals.

Today, Restore SD is an all-female aesthetic practice recognized nationally for surgical excellence, patient safety, and a culture that empowers rather than pressures. Dr. Gallus remains one of only a small percentage of female plastic surgeons in the country — and she built this practice specifically to serve the patients the industry has long underserved.

Predominantly female patients aged 30–55 with upper-middle to high household incomes ($100,000+) across San Diego County's affluent coastal and suburban communities, who research extensively before any decision and prioritize board-certified credentials, safety, and natural-looking results from a female-led, transparent practice that listens and never pressures.
