Established in 2017 by Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, the institute set the international standard for excellence in evidence-based, patient-centered integrative health care. Now part of the historic, first-ever medical school department of Integrative Medicine & Nutritional Sciences at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, the institute has tremendously broadened its clinical mission, educational offerings, and innovative clinical trials. Major philanthropic support — led by Bernie Marcus (co-founder of The Home Depot) and the Marcus Foundation — has been foundational to its growth and breakthrough clinical discoveries.
