Brand Story
Founded in 2001 by Aimee Ellingsen, Cake Websites & More began as a small web design firm in North Carolina. Aimee had been designing and coding websites since 1996, and she built Cake around a philosophy of doing effective work without the waste. In 2010, Clark Mackey — an SEO expert who had been consulting independently since 1999 — joined as co-owner, bringing deep technical search expertise that complemented Cake's creative foundation. When Aimee retired in 2024, Clark became the sole owner, continuing the agency's tradition of straightforward, results-driven marketing.
Over more than two decades, Cake has grown into a 12-person, full-service agency with a deliberate specialization in cosmetic medicine, medical spas, healthcare law, and legal marketing. Many clients have stayed with the agency for 15 years or more — a testament to the trust-first, hype-free approach that defines the brand.
